Ellie's Vocabulary

Ellie's getting better at saying some words. She really just is an observer though. We get together with friends and she is a mute. Just stares, soaks it all in, and is perfectly content with not saying a word. That has to be from her daddy because all of you know I can't stand silence! However, when she's at home and in her element, she is so silly! Here are some of her words I got her to say for the video. It was really cute because I keep playing it back and she keeps repeating them with the video!

Ellie's Pizza Sauce Art Exhibit

Well, our sweet Ellie had a bit of an encounter with a pizza last week. She's apparently continuing her artistic abilities (first writing with pen on the wall - which I still need to take off with a magic eraser) through pizza sauce. This is what happens when you leave your child unattended too long. I was just going to check my e-mail...quick... Ellie and I had two pieces together and then she said "all done." Little did I know she wasn't telling the truth. So I got her down from her high chair and cleaned her hands and her tray, put her milk away and was like, "Oh, well, I'll just take another piece of pizza for myself and go check my e-mail and facebook quick." Which wouldn't normally be a bad thing. However, I left the rest of the pizza in the middle of the table. After an undetermined time, when things got awfully quiet, I checked on Ellie and this is what I found. BUSTED with such an innocent look on her face. And her pizza sauce art began on the couch and trickled all the way on the carpet to the door. I'm pretty sure I spot shot at least 15 spots on our carpet! Her behind and the whole front of her outfit were covered with pizza sauce. I should have taken a picture of the front, but I was in a mad hurry to get it spray and washed and in the washing machine. (by the way I had to wash that bad boy twice). Even piggy was involved. Poor piggy didn't even ask for it and got manhandled. And then the left over pizza. I'm still not sure how many pieces she did eat. The art exhibit aftermath only showed 3 remaining pieces (two by her when she was busted, and then one crust pictured above near the cardboard circle of doom). I ate 2 pieces and Ellie at one, then I took one with me into the room. Which means....Ellie either a) was indeed NOT all done and ate 1 more piece or b) hid it somewhere I have not found (and trust me I've searched). Maybe she does have a secret stash. I bet Ben's wallet is there. Oh, the joys of having a 21 month old!
