Mini Update

Still waiting to talk to Dr.Grubbs to hear official plan, and what the X rays indicated. So far the nurses have shared that his lab work came back ok. His hematocrit is a little low.

He has a lot of air on his tummy, so they actually are trying him on high flow nasal cannula 2 liters, to see if that might be less air that ends up in his tummy and intestines. He has had more episodes, that needed stimulation. :( But that is too be expected. We went from 8 liters (with the bubble CPAP) to 2 liters...so that is quite a jump. It has been fun to see his hair and a little more of his face.

So far the plan is still NPO.  Will update more when I know...

Better?

Dr.Barber actually showed us the two X rays in comparison. And right when we saw the first one, both Ben and I had expressions of "poor buddy." His belly is distended, and you can see a bunch of loops in the bowel. He showed us the suspicious spot, and the second one looks better, like its moved. It could be stool, but they cannot rule out pneumatosis, yet again. So Beckett will be NPO all night, and in the morning, they will do another X ray and set of labs. Dr.Barber said he would feel more comfortable comparing three x rays to really see what is going on.

Dr.Grubbs is actually rounding at Cooks Children's tomorrow, but knows about Beckett's afternoon. He will still stop over to see him this weekend. So thankful mom and Aunt Marie are here, and currently home with Ellie so Ben and I could be here at the hospital.

Labs will be drawn at 3 am, and the X ray at 5, so we should have some answers at least by 10 am tomorrow morning.

And the stressful waiting continues...

Awaiting another X ray

Well, Beckett's labs came back ok. CRP was 0.1, CBC was ok. X rays indicated he has air all over, including lots of air in the intestines. The Kidney, Ureter, Bladder X ray did indicate a suspicious area that could be the pneumatosis again, or it could be a stool. So, they have him NPO. They also put the replogle back in to help suction out some of the air in his tummy. As far as the air in his intestines, he needs to pass gas to get rid of that!

They did another X ray at 8 pm, and we are waiting to hear back from Dr.Barber about the results, and the new plan of action.

Keep praying. This is so stressful.
