Pre-op yesterday determined Beckett boy was not in 100 percent health condition for his surgery. The anesthesiologist made the call. He just wasn't comfortable putting Beckett under general anesthetic with his lungs and airway still a bit irritated from his cold. His cold is a simple one, no fever, just runny nose and congestion, but still an irritant. General anesthetic meds irritate the airway. Being intubated during the surgery also irritates the airway. So we just felt it best to make sure Beckett is as healthy as he can be. So the surgery will now be Wednesday, Feb. 13. They are awesome, and going to let me do the pre-op consult on the phone the day before (only if he is healthy). If any question, then I still need to take him in. So more waiting.
As if we already didn't live in a bubble. We are MORE now! The new goal is to get Beckett 100 percent healthy, and keep him that way! Of course, now I'm getting the kid's cold, so far not so bad. I tried to ward it off with ziacam...no such luck. Was hoping for mommy immunity on this one. Oh well. STILL so thankful that it's just a cold, and not influenza!
