Joy because of my Boy

One proud mama here.

My little boy finished his first full bottle this morning at 8 am! Yes, that is correct...45 mls all by bottle. No naso gastric feeding tube (its in his nose now, had I mentioned that?) required for this feeding folks!

He has had little to no residual all day. Hopefully we are past his intestinal issues. He did have on stim episode today, and has
been desatting a little more frequent during his feedings. Praying he doesn't have too much refluxing going on.

And I did get to see my little boy today. And tonight he just totally breastfed (yes, the real deal folks!) For 13 minutes with a good latch. He is pacing himself really well! So proud of how well he is practicing his suck, swallow, breathe. This is a huge milestone in his development! Didn't burp for me, but sure had a full poopy diaper at the end of his feeding! Sounding a bit like his cousin, Maizee! :) They have guidelines based on how many minutes he was actually sucking, and so the nurse gavaged fed the 26 mls left of his feeding while I held him.

Speaking of when I fed him, held him...my emotions were just flooded with tears of joy. God is so amazing by blessing me with little Beckett, who amazes me every day.

It brought me to tears to see him looking up at me with those wide open eyes.

It brought me to tears to hear him cooing and making squeaky noises.

It brought me to tears to hold him in his clothes, swaddled.

It brought me to tears to feel him hiccup close to my chest.

It brought me to tears to see his smile and half smirk.

It's starting to feel more like I have a baby. It brought me to a smile from ear to ear to know Beckett is my son.

My perfect baby boy.

Thank God with me today.
