Today was rough for me. Beckett's heart rate issue the past few days has bothered me, and we haven't quite figured out what exactly is the cause. And then when the alarm was sounding literally every 5 minutes it seemed like, I just couldn't take it anymore.
His blood pressure is back to normal range, and we are so thankful that it was probably his temperature inside the isolette that was causing the higher heart rate today. I'm so glad they got him cooled down. Today they did a chest x-ray to rule out the PICC line placement being the cause of the increased heart rate. It came back ok. The kidney ultrasound came back clear too. It could be his caffiene dose, which they lowered, but it'll be hard to tell if that is really it because it's still in his system, and he needs it for the As and Bs. We are praying that he gets to full feeds maybe by the weekend, where the TPN will come off, and the PICC will be removed, and then we can see if that is the cause.
Tonight Ben, Uncle Fred and Aunt Anna went to visit Beckett and said that his heart rate was lower, actually in the 150s to 170s and that it was quiet in his room...2 alarms went off because his oxygen saturation was too high (which is ok, than the nurse usually just turns down his oxygen). Good news. Meanwhile, I stayed home with an Ellie with a runny nose. Both Ben and I got our flu shots today (Ellie had hers earlier), but of course, cold and flu season is underway and makes me nervous. I'm praying she beats it soon!
Beckett is now on 13 mls of breastmilk, and he's tolerating it well! He's having no spits. And he's having plenty of wet and poopy diapers!
Thanks for your prayers. I spent some time tonight reflecting on God's provision in our life, and especially when Ellie was in the NICU. I think it helps me deal with the anxiety of the unknown, the control that I don't have.We saw some NICU graduates coming back to visit nurses as we were leaving, and even though I was in tears, I knew that was a good reminder. Oh, how I wish I could just fast forward to December and bring home a chunky baby boy.
I re-read what I shared at our church during the the Thanksgiving service...we are thankful. We are thankful for Ellie's life, and we are so thankful for Sweet Beckett. We love our little family, and are so blessed God chose us as parents to our preemies.

God took care of her, and I'm trusting that God is taking good care of Beckett.
No one knows what life may bring.
I will promise just one thing.
I will trust His love in me.
Loving You eternally.

I feel your joy, I feel your pain. Wish I could take it away. But, He feels your joy and He feels your pain and He can and did take it away if we let Him. We both love you more than you'll ever know. Continue to rest in Him. He knows it all. Hugs to you all...
